In Lemaitre's essay, he mentions that that only 200 bound copies of Les Journaux Des Dieux were delivered for distribution because there were insufficent funds to pay him - "which of course makes the saved volumes extremely valuable." This exhibition features enlargement of pages as prints on fabric from Isou's novel "Initiation a la haute volupte" (1960) that is also held by the Sackner Archive as the book and also the prints published by Francisco Conz. Each stylized playing card depicts a photographic portrait of a lettrist artist with varied lettrist symbols and/or calligraphic styles that are printed directly on the photograph. These are associated with the visual works of the specific artists. Some markings are also directly painted onto the photographs.
